パナマのラスノブレズでバスを待ちながら道ぞいでりっぱなイラクサを発見！トゲが日本のイラクサよりチョット長くて、痛みはどうだろう～

I spotted a nice little patch of nettles by the side of the road while waiting for the bus. their stingers are a bit longer than the Japanese variety, wonder if they hurt more?

ね～12月17日、どこにいる予定？もし、音楽、海、ろうそく、まつりなど好きなら、七ヶ浜に行くべきです！！！

私の元気満々、七ヶ浜ボディーボーダーの友達～恵みさん～がこのイベントの担当です。。。彼女が七ヶ浜に作ってくれた”海の学校”イベントはものすごく楽しくて、未来教室も絶対楽しい。。。大人でも、子供でも、体が大人けど中身が子供でも。。。パナマはもちょっと近かったらな。。。

This event is being put on by my friend Megumi~she’s the Genkiest bodyboarder in all of Tohoku, a Shichigahama local, and the one who brought the Japan-wide “Umi no Gakko” to Shichigahama.   This is going to be a fun day, for kids and adults…if Panama weren’t so far away, I’d be there for sure!

lychees in costa rica- コスタリカのライチ

Hello from Costa Rica! We are renting a house in the jungle for a week and really enjoying all the plants and animals…check out this morning’s breakfast safari:

コスタリカからhello!　ここのジャングルの中の家を一週間借りていろんな動物と植物と遊んでます～今日の朝ごはんサファリを見てね。。。（ほんとに起きたばっかりから寝起きでごめんね～）

Just like I said in the video, I’ll keep sending short clips about all the new plants I’m learning about here~AND I’ll keep uploading lessons about herbs, plants, and natural health care…I hope you all continue studying about plants and natural medicine while we both learn about medicinal plants in Central America.  Stay tuned!

みんなさん、こんいち～ひさしぶりです！
雨だね！！！実はこの雨のおかげでやっと家にいる日が続けて、メールを書く時間ができました。。。

聴 いたかも知りませんけど、私は10月に日本から出国します。私は仙台、東北、日本のこと、津波復興仕事も心から愛してるのに～自分の勢力と元気は海と植物 からもらいます。　最近、海も植物も放射能から影響を受け、私の充電はできなくなりました。　新しい展望を開タイミングがきました。。。Natural Healing Studioのアイディアは生まれてからやっといい形になったタイミングでほんとに残念けど、みんなさんの愛、協力、クリエイティービティーをもらって thank you so much! 心から感謝～

仙台で溜まった力を次の一章で大事に育ちます。

日本から出国する前、Pangaea のオーガニックナイトで、も一つのイベントをやります。　いつものイベントとちょっと違う形になりますので、正直ちょっと緊張はしてます：）　仙台は１０ 年間私のことを育ってくれましたので、出国する前、伝いたいことがあります。。。ほんと少しですけど、私のthank youです。

Hey all,

I hope this finds you smiling~ I’m actually thankful for all the rain today, as it finally gives me a chance to sit down and write to you.

As you may know, I will be leaving Japan in the next few weeks.  I love Sendai, Tohoku, Japan, and being able to participate in the rebuild efforts here…but I get my energy from the ocean and plants, and radiation has affected both of those.  So, it’s time for me to start a new chapter in my life, and get some outside perspective on what has been happening here.

Before I go, I’ll be doing one more talk at Organic night at Pangaea, in Sendai.

It will be a bit different than past events I’ve had.  No potion making or recipes, just some things I’d like to say before I leave here.  To be honest, I’m a little nervous:)

I’ll share lessons I’ve learned wandering around the world, getting lost in amazing places. Things I’ve learned talking to plants & being humbled by the ocean over and over again…  I’ll share lessons from some of the best teachers I’ve had.  Sendai has given me so much the last 10 years, it’s the best way I can think of to say thank you~

Also, Yass San, from Sanbeam will do a set on the stand up bass.  If you’ve never seen him work his magic on the bass, you’re in for a treat.

一時休耕セール

It’s  hard to believe how much life has changed in the last 4 months.   I’ve spent the last few months working as a community builder for Architecture for Humanity, an NPO working on the long term rebuild of Motoyoshi and Maeamihama.　 That doesn’t leave me much time to spend at the studio, and the herbs are getting lonely:(  It looks like this job with Architecture for Humanity is going to keep me busy for a while, and I’ll need some time to recharge before I’m able to counsel people about their health, so I’ve decided that it’s time for the Natural Healing Studio to take a break.  This is such a hard decision, but I have to be where my heart says I should be, and that’s working on tsunami relief.

That means I need to find new homes for all my herbs and plants while they are still fresh~I’ll be having a “Takin’ a Break Sale” this Friday and Saturday (July 8th & 9th) from 10 am to 7 pm.  Super cheap prices on herbs, essential oils, jars, and other herb related stuff.  Come by for a chat, some shopping or some tea:)

４か月でいろいろ変わりましたね。。。震災からArchitecture for Humanityのコミュニティー作り仕事で気仙沼市の本吉と牡鹿半島の前網浜で働いてます。復興のため、セコンドホームの日本と生まれたアメリカをつないで、ちょっとでも役に立つことがあればほんとにうれしいです。。。

ま～残念のことは、最近ナチュラルヒーリングスタジオにいる時間がなくて、ハーブと植物はさみしくなてます。かわいいそうね～

だから今週、一時休耕セールをやりたいとおもいます：
